“...is not to me that you need to answer the question “whose water is it?”, but to a much higher juridical instance…”In cooperation with Sociéte Realiste, Ulay presents his latest work from “Whose water is it?” series, set in Maribor. His work is linked to the importance of water for everyone and the lack of this vital resource in many poor countries in Africa and Asia. The deep meaning of this artwork is the fundamental paradox of Western culture which tends to interpret all natural phenomena from the viewpoint of capital gain.
