Piotr Bosacki (PL)

Piotr Bosacki (born 1977) is a graduate of Poznań’s Frederic Chopin Music School and Academy of Fine Arts, currently he works in the Intermedia Department of the University of Arts in Poznań. In his creative work he uses a variety of media and forms, including graphics, animation, installations, musical compositions and literature.

Bosacki is a member of the Poznań based PENERSTWO group. From 2004 to 2011 he was a founding member of the audio-performance group KOT. In 2007 he released a solo recording of his compositions A Small Scroll [Mały zwój], Excercises in Counterpoint [Ćwiczenia z kontrapunktu] and Doll Twats [Pipy lalek]. His first book Traumtagebuch, illustrated with drawings by Wojciech Bąkowski, was published in 2010. In 2011 his animated film Dracula won the grand prize at Short Waves Festival in Poznań and the Audience Award in the independent film competition at the Polish Feature Film Festival in Gdynia. Bosacki’s work has been featured at many WRO Biennales and WRO on Tour presentations. His film How They Hanged Greiser [Jak Greisera wieszali] was shown at WRO 05; Grimbones [Film o Kostuchu] was shown at WRO 09; at WRO 2011 Alternative Now four of his works were presented: the films Shekhinah, Dracula and Bars and Clocks [Sztaby i zegary], and a preview performance of his composition The Third Scroll. In 2012 during a processual workshop and exhibition project at the WRO Atelier, he composed The Fourth Scroll, which was premiered at the Wrocław Contemporary Museum.
