Alexei Monroe interviews Lillevan on his work, his view on contemporary art and his relationship with science and technology before his performance with Fennesz in Ljubljana.
Lillevan is an animation, video and media artist. He is best known as founding member of the visual / music group Rechenzentrum (1997-2008). He has performed and collaborated with many artists from a wide array of genres, from opera to installation, from minimal electronic experimentalism to dance and classical music; performed and exhibited all over the globe, and at all the major media festivals.
Alexei Monroe is a non-aligned cultural theorist and freelance editor from London. He is author of the books Pluralni monolit (Plural Monolith, MASKA 2003) and Interrogation Machine (MIT Press 2005) which deal with the Slovene arts movement Neue Slowenische Kunst (NSK). Besides his work on NSK, he writes widely on the aesthetics and politics of electronic music.
